A thought provoking phrase, right? My ear caught it on world space this morning! A very knowledge filled talk by a saint on this topic Healthy discontentment has manoeuvred my thoughts towards an unexplored direction. Sometimes philosophy can mislead or be misunderstood if not guided by a Guru! We've often heard people say - desires lead to destruction. But creativity is born from desires springing forth from discontentment. It is said that discontentment should be towards achieving a worthwhile or purposeful goal. This is a healthy sign. Don't u think so? When we have discontentment or disgust in the periphery surrounding the point of focus ie committment, it is then that creativity is ignited towards manifesting a thought or desire. Instead when we have disgust in the center and committment in the periphery that's when we lead an aimless life blinded by trivial things. Having a healthy desire is justified only at the thought level but it is the level of involvment or commitment that decides whether we have it or not. Discontentment is the attitude that we must develop with ourselves inorder to achieve the impossible. Well in other words it is healthy discontentment with the right committment that helps in a person's growth, be it spiritually, mentally or materialistically. All of us are energy bodies cased in a castle - "I can't". The moment we break this castle, we become aware of our infinite energy. Contentment is a convenient justification for lathargy. Curiousity to learn and explore newer avenues is what makes one more youthful, rather than age. So stay youthful, stay discontented and explore life!!
