A thought provoking phrase, right? My ear caught it on world space this morning! A very knowledge filled talk by a saint on this topic Healthy discontentment has manoeuvred my thoughts towards an unexplored direction. Sometimes philosophy can mislead or be misunderstood if not guided by a Guru! We've often heard people say - desires lead to destruction. But creativity is born from desires springing forth from discontentment. It is said that discontentment should be towards achieving a worthwhile or purposeful goal. This is a healthy sign. Don't u think so? When we have discontentment or disgust in the periphery surrounding the point of focus ie committment, it is then that creativity is ignited towards manifesting a thought or desire. Instead when we have disgust in the center and committment in the periphery that's when we lead an aimless life blinded by trivial things. Having a healthy desire is justified only at the thought level but it is the level of involvment or commitment that decides whether we have it or not. Discontentment is the attitude that we must develop with ourselves inorder to achieve the impossible. Well in other words it is healthy discontentment with the right committment that helps in a person's growth, be it spiritually, mentally or materialistically. All of us are energy bodies cased in a castle - "I can't". The moment we break this castle, we become aware of our infinite energy. Contentment is a convenient justification for lathargy. Curiousity to learn and explore newer avenues is what makes one more youthful, rather than age. So stay youthful, stay discontented and explore life!!

MOTHER

There's a popular saying which goes - "God created mothers so that he could be felt everywhere." A baby is a manifestation of some mother's thoughts and dreams. Every woman is born with the potential to create a baby of her own choice but unfortunately very few are aware of this great asset. It is the mother who designs the character, emotions and desires of the baby in her womb by just indulging in the relevant activity. Her eyes carry the picture of the facial features she desires of the baby in her womb. Her activity and thought imprint the baby's basic character. All throughout pregnancy the nobler the mother's thoughts, the nobler the child- is an old saying, but yes holds good even to this day. Its a wonderful science of a soul evolving out of the mother's thoughts.
It is normally thought that, being motherly is only a woman's cup of tea. Infact being motherly is more to do with a person's attitude of love, affection and sacrifice. It is the most valuable gift a child can get. From the child's point of view, a mother is a person with whom he or she can be herself, knowing that she would absorb anything and everything. Sometimes we take this quality for granted and overlook all the little things that she has done to see us bloom. I think being a mother is a blessing and also being able to shape a soul in order to help him evolve is even more fortunate. Anyone who can love without reason, who can sacrifice without expecting anything, overlook flaws and mould with love, is a mother in the true reflection of the omnipresent. If one can idealise these qualities, i think it can make him or her an ideal person. This universal motherly attitude works unbelievably even with human relationships. Everytime we look at a mother, i think it is just god's way of reminding us of what we should aspire to become. More than being a mother, being able to mother everyone is a greater quality to possess.

A CONFERENCE OF MINDS!
Ideas, ideas and ideas!! This is what comes out of a conference. The recent coimbatore conference that i went to was one like this. An event where a group of powerful young minds got together inspiring each other to churn the best out of themselves. I must say, an unimaginable confluence of creativity, intelligence, dedication and devotion this was. Everybody was brimming with life, reflected in their beaming smiles! I have come to understand that our purpose in life is much beyond what we actually think it is. The kind of work the youngsters have decided to commit themselves to for the sake of our country, put us to shame. Are we doing what is expected of us?? We were also taught a beautiful process of disconnecting the "I" factor from all that we presumed, was simply the wonderful effect of our creativity. That is possible only when we link up all actions and results to the supreme creator. I think its a great way to meditate. Think!! As for me the conference was a rainbow of experiences to learn from and contemplate on. I was constantly trying to guage my spiritual growth. My attitude when I was in a conference like this 10 years ago and my attitude now. I know I have changed, but is it for the better or worse is something i leave to my Guru to decide on. The selfless attitude in some of the delegates there has impressed me immensely. A thorough internal purification process indeed! The potential of the youth is extremely vibrant with positive energy and unconditional love. It was lovely to feel a common spiritual thread binding all of us there, uniting us on one platform to become purposeful visionaries. I realise why great masters chose to sow the seed early. I think all of us who are tuned to a spiritual guru are fortunately a part of the supreme design. Just imagine, every youngster in a spiritual fold today, what a rich country we would have! Visualising this kind of divinity flowing through everybody is, I think the first step to having a beautiful tomorrow!!
